SunnySide Demo Patchnotes (Version 1.11.10)

  • The game is now localized in Japanese, German, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese!
  • Can no longer press confirm on a sell menu while it's closing, no more unlimited money exploit, stop it.
  • All the fonts in the game now have a fallback font that supports all glyphs in different languages.
  • Recycle machines now work correctly overnight.
  • Recycle machine now has full controller support.
  • Adjusted the particles above a drop point to make it more visible when there are items inside.
  • Can no longer destroy the pre-placed blueprints.
  • Hovering over a pre-placed blueprint before their blueprints are unlocked no longer displays the requirements.
  • Reworked how the player is possessed on map switching and sleeping. This should fix many problems of the player being able to open the phone, inventory or otherwise control the character before the loading screen fades out.
  • The journal and map hotkeys now only work if the player is grounded and can open their phone or inventory. This fixes a lot of crashes.
  • Ultra-wide monitors are now supported! The camera FOV now stays the same regardless of screen width.
  • Added a buffer to jumping that disables interactions with the world. In other words, you can no longer interact with something and jump at the same time (it was very hard to do, to begin with, but it's impossible now).
  • Removed the incorrectly placed, deprecated sparky interaction points in Lush caves. This caused a huge framerate drop once the player visited the lush caves at least once and continued to worsen as they continued to duplicate each day.
  • Fixed a similar issue with cave ores, as they also continued to duplicate in cave levels after Barren.
  • Obeng, Nakamura and Hoshi woodworks maps are all now separated, this should alleviate the slowing down around that area.
  • Changed the streaming settings for the game, levels should be loading much faster now.
  • Fixed the long-running issue with ecosystem and foliage items duplicating at times. This should have a major effect on performance and memory if the player has been exploring around the map.
  • You can now adjust the rate at which time passes in real-life minutes.
  • Added a trail effect to the mini-map that follows the player, this should help with navigation so the player knows where they're coming from (thanks FF7 for the idea!).
  • Map pins now properly appear with a beam effect in the map app as they should've all this time.
  • Map pins now have a world beam as well which can be toggled on or off.
  • The property name is now 26 characters long (from 15).
  • Property names now support multi-language typing both in the field and in the world.
  • Cats now meow at an acceptable volume.
  • The quest "It Takes a Village" now starts after completing the objective "Go to TechHero" as opposed to the "Finish Build Station Blueprint" that it was connected to before.
  • Big improvement to particle memory management, the particles that are too far away do not correctly get destroyed.
  • Improved the UI of tutorial pop-ups and the app.
  • Improved the UI on the contacts screen in Squirrel.
  • Enabled fish particles in water! They're finally here. This is a test run of fish particles, mostly focused on testing whether they have an impact on performance, their path of swimming and count is still under work, so please refrain from reporting about there being too many fish in the rivers or them swimming in funny locations.
  • Improved the UI of tutorial pop-ups and the app.
  • Improved the UI on the contacts screen in Squirrel.
  • You can now view any tutorial in full screen through the tutorials app.
  • Added a function that changes the cursor speed based on screen resolution. This should maintain a more accurate cursor speed on 4K screens.
  • The cursor now appears in the centre of the screen as opposed to the top left.
  • Map beacons in the world now hide themselves when entering a cutscene.
  • You can now toggle the world beams using the quick actions in the radial menu.
  • From this build onwards, if at any point the player has an unfinished quest that doesn't have any unlocked objectives yet (we call these quest holds) a text displays in the place of an objective in both the HUD and the journal app to let the player know that they can continue this quest after progression in other quests.
  • If the player has completed an objective before receiving it, such as "Meet everyone in SunnySide" now the objective will correctly complete itself upon receiving it.
  • The quest window now hides itself if no quest is available any more.
  • The text message for the "4-legged variety" objective on Farmstead Friends now actually gets delivered.
  • Fixed a major issue with Gabe's available animals to purchase. Horses also now appear properly after receiving the text message on year 2 day 1.
    You can now sell items to select Higashi vendors.
  • Melody's and Chiyo's shops now open a lot more reliably and bug-free.
  • Vendor services now count correctly when added to the list of orders.
  • Complete rework of the ocean, you can now swim and fish in the ocean.
  • Submitting critters to the field labs now works properly.
  • The critter cam now produces much clearer photos.
  • Reworked and reimplemented some of the late-game quests. The entirety of the tutorial chapter should now be accessible without a hitch.
  • All stone lanterns are now back on the map, and also lit up!
  • Can no longer open inventory or phone while swimming.
  • Lots of improvements to memory and performance.
  • All the tackle boxes in the game now give you the correct items with proper spawn rates and all that.
  • Fixed the tags on all fish, cooking them should be much easier now.
  • Enabled failing the auction on non-demo builds again.
  • Almost half of the UI is now localised, this leaves us with very little left for the entirety of the game!
  • Enabled frame smoothing which should reduce framerate stuttering (but doesn't fully eliminate it).
  • Complete rework and polish of the phone notifications, now they queue up properly, appear smoothly and collapse really nicely as they fade.
  • The build station crash is now fixed.
  • You can now use quickmove on the buildstation as well.
  • The stick fence and path now come pre-unlocked as your first blueprints. No more empty build mode after unlocking the drone.
  • Enemies now disappear properly after being destroyed in battle.
  • Fixed the UI breaking on many texts in certain languages.
  • Reworked the map markers on the farm, now there are 3: The Parcel Box, The Shed and The Tea House which only appears after building it.
  • You can no longer hang out in the tea house before it is built.
  • Many quest markers on the farm now point to the accurate location. For example, getting tools from the shed points to the shed.
  • Your birthday in Squirrel can no longer be 0.
  • A whole new app to help you see the information for crops when it isn't available in SunnySeed! Introducing PlantDaddy Farming Companion! Shoutout to EpicGardening for allowing us to theme the whole app after them, it looks immaculate.
  • SunnySeed now has rotation in its stock, it changes every day.
  • Aligned the app icons in the phone vertically, properly.
  • Fixed a physics crash that could occur when crashing the bicycle on the road.
  • Ryozo and Blake's houses are no longer flooded.
  • Fixed up the weirdness with drawing pipes for irrigation.
  • Irrigation pipes now save properly overnight.
  • Improved the irrigation pipe drawing resolution.
  • The clock now progresses minute by minute instead of 15-minute intervals.
  • Polished up how status effect icons display next to the hunger/stamina bar. They now stack based on what effect is visible instead of being static.
  • Fixed the incorrect text showing up on the parcel box in the map app.
  • Map App photos no longer appear stretched.
  • A slight change in the behaviour of the drone flying, you can now move forward and elevate at the same time a lot easier.
  • All drone upgrades (except for thermal cam and active camo) now work properly again.
  • Riverside Ranch now works correctly and only displays unlocked animals.
  • Riverside Ranch animal lists no longer continue to duplicate every time the player selects a bed.
  • Passing out on a vehicle now works properly and no longer softlocks the player.
  • Increased the overall quality settings of the game on High settings in texture quality and shadow quality.
  • Major change and improvement to water across the map, the collision detection is much more accurate now. This means swimming should not break anymore, in the ocean, rivers or any other location.
  • NPCs no longer teleport occasionally when spoken to.
  • Shoe removal zones now work properly again.
  • Placed blueprints can now be destroyed properly.
  • Fixed a large number of food recipes, cooking should work a lot more reliably now.
  • Lots of new road signs in and around SunnySide.
  • You can now open any tutorial in full screen after being acquired.
  • Make an offering at the shrine now completes when the player opens the skill tree.
  • Optimised the newly placed road signs.
  • The quest tracker on the HUD works a lot more reliably now.
  • Fixed up a bunch of UI issues with phone notifications, the text no longer leaves the screen on them.
  • The mines no longer unload when the player opens the map app.
  • Fishing animation now works consistently.
  • Ryozo now spawns properly in town a day after the quest "Sting Operation" is activated.
